The Passenger Transport Planning (PTP) unit provides strategic direction for passenger transport planning projects within Transport and Main Roads' (TMR). In the role of Project Support Officer you will:

- Help influence and guide the growth and development of public transport networks and services across South East Queensland and regional cities.
- Be involved in a broad range of complex, sensitive/large transport planning initiatives that explore opportunities to:

- create better communities by planning for viable travel options and enhanced local mobility
- develop integrated multi-modal solutions that foster value for money transport outcomes that are integrated with community, land use and environmental goals
- Develop and maintain constructive working relationships and collaboration initiatives with diverse stakeholders across TMR state agencies, local governments and industry.
- Be involved in stakeholder and community engagement activities to inform strategic transport planning projects.
- Develop innovative approaches to program and project administration challenges and drive improvement and accountability initiatives.
- Join an experienced, supportive multi-skilled team and develop new skills.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Coordinate, lead and assist in various program and project based control and coordination activities
- Assist in project management and efficient delivery of modal and integrated multimodal transport studies.
- Coordinate and assist preparation of program and project management activities such as reporting, procurement, project plans, engagement plans, approvals, project close out reports, correspondence, presentations and so on.
- Develop and implement program and project controls and help drive improvement and accountability initiatives.
- Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with other parts of TMR and support the team to engage with other Queensland Government agencies, key partners and stakeholders as required to deliver the teams activities.
- Support the team to facilitate stakeholder forums and working groups. The successful applicant for the Project Support Officer role will also be required to:

- Work with a team of multi-skilled professionals based in South East Queensland, who form part of a broader state-wide team of transport professionals across TMR.
- Contribute to a positive work environment that supports continuous improvement and actively supports and contributes to staff development and performance of the planning team. This position reports to the Planning Manager (Passenger Transport Planning) and has no direct reports.
