**How will I help?**

As an experienced strategic leader with a talent for influence and driving value, you will join the Workforce Optimisation team (Human Resources Division) to lead the Westpac Chapter Model as the Head of Chapters. You will play an important role in shaping the future of our organisation’s most strategic capabilities by simplifying and embedding the Chapter Model across the Group.

Reporting to the Group Head of Workforce Optimisation, you will be responsible for advancing the Group’s Chapter Model, ensuring excellence in execution, and delivering a consistent set of standardized capabilities for our most strategic crafts. In this role you’ll collaborate closely with senior leaders—including Group Executives—to establish and enhance both new and existing Chapters, driving value for our employees, customers, and the Group as a whole.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the effectiveness and maturity of the Chapter Model, aligning it with the Group’s broader strategic goals.
- Shape and implement a forward-looking strategy with clear success measures for the Chapter Model, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Partner with Chapter Leads, serving as a trusted advisor to help them operationalise and embed the chapter model for their crafts.
- Ensure consistency across all Chapters, particularly regarding structures and processes, and align them with the Group’s strategic objectives and organisational frameworks (e.g. capability framework, job architecture framework).
- Partner across HR to develop and implement a support model focused on capability building and talent management within Chapters.
- Cultivate a culture of collaboration by promoting the sharing of insights, tools, and best practices across Chapters.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and business leaders, securing their advocacy and support to drive the Chapter Model forward.
- Embed and mature the Operating Model and all it’s constructs to stay aligned to the Operating Model Framework and provide thought leadership to help optimise the way they operate

**What’s in it for me?**

You’ll play an important and significant part in the future of a business that has been around for 200 years. Our purpose is Helping Australians Succeed - it’s what we do, who we are and why we come to work every day. So, we’ll back you in the development of your career, with internal career prospects and flexible working. You’ll also be backed by a fantastic team of people in a can-do, supportive structure.

Whatever shape your family takes, we offer generous paid and unpaid parental leave for your nominated primary and support carers. This includes leave to organise adoptions, surrogacy, and foster care arrangements. And we continue to pay your super contributions while you take all the time you need to get your new family settled.

**What do I need?**

In this dynamic role, you’ll need to blend a range of skills and experiences to succeed. Your deep knowledge of agile working practices, combined with experience in chapter models and capability development, will be critical as you lead in a complex and multi-stakeholder environment. You will be a visionary leader with a strong executive presence and the ability to inspire and influence others at all levels as well as being comfortable presenting to large and senior audiences. You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation. Experience in banking or financial services is highly desirable but not essential.

**What’s it like to work there?**

We are a collaborative team of passionate people with a shared ambition to make a difference for our customers, our communities and each other. At Westpac, making a difference means creating impact, unlocking our own and each other’s passions, and transformative success stories to create better futures together.

As well as competitive remuneration and a great culture, joining the Westpac family gives you access to a wide range of employee benefits to help you manage your priorities - whether that means family life, work/life balance, ambition to grow or all the little perks in between.

We’ll empower you to shape your career path. Through personalised upskilling, mentoring, and training opportunities, you’re in control of where you start and how you’ll grow.

As an equal opportunity employer, we are proud to have created a culture and work environment that values diversity and flexibility - and champions inclusion.
