**About the Department**

The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services. The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

**About the Division**

Early Learning Practice and Participation (ELPAP) Division is responsible for the delivery of professional practice supports and quality initiatives for kindergarten and Pre-Prep aligned to the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and National Quality Framework, working with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.

There is a particular focus on delivering practice quality enablers that improve workforce retention and recognition. ELPAP leads the development and implementation of participation and inclusion supports for all children, including implementation of needs-based funding for kindergartens. This includes School Readiness Funding (SRF), a permanent and ongoing part of the Victorian kindergarten funding model. SRF funds a range of programs and supports that aim to build the capacity of services, educators and families to support the learning and development of children facing educational disadvantage.

The Early Learning Participation branch exists to pursue equity and inclusion for children experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage to optimise their learning outcomes. The branch facilitates this through:

- establishing policy settings and other initiatives that underpin partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- delivering programs that provide essential support to enable children's access and attendance in kindergarten programs that sustain their engagement in learning.
- practically supporting the inclusive and responsive practice kindergarten sector
- providing expert advice to the development and implementation of strategic policy, including Inclusion reform, Three-Year-Old Kindergarten and Pre-Prep

**About the Role**

An opportunity exists for a Program Advisor to join the School Readiness Funding (SRF) unit on an ongoing basis. This Program Advisor role will provide critical program management and policy design support for the SRF program. This work includes:

- managing external stakeholder queries and correspondence
- monitoring and responding to issues raised by internal delivery teams
- analysing data to generate insights, statistics and reports about SRF
- supporting the SRF unit to deliver of key reforms to the SRF policy in line with the policy reform commitments made in 'School Readiness Funding: Future Directions', a statement made in September 2022 by the then Minister of Early Childhood and Pre-Prep.

This is an exciting time to join the SRF unit as we continue to reform, improve and evaluate the SRF policy. We are looking for a passionate individual who will support effective delivery of SRF and its forthcoming policy reforms.
