**About the role**:
The role of Labourer is to provide support to civil construction crews including excavation, backfill, cable installations including UG fibre optic cables, recoveries and reinstatement works in accordance with job specifications, materials handling and transport and stockpile management.

You will be responsible for a variety of labouring tasks and have the opportunity to work with colleagues across a range of disciplines.

**_ Your responsibilities will include:_**
- Dig trenches to specification
- Lay & install pipe to plan
- Shovelling materials to and from construction areas, including but not limited to asphalt and dirt
- Operate variety of hand & power tools
- Load and unload construction materials &/supplies from trucks
- Maintaining clean work environment being machinery &/work site
- Spotting for underground services
- Read plans and take direction from Crew Leader

**About you**:

- Experience working within similar role within the construction industry
- Operating an Excavator with proven trenching techniques & ability to dig around services
- Read & understand DBYD plans
- Being able to communicate at a variety of levels
- Actively participate in identifying site hazards and implementing control measures
- Ability to implement environmental controls as required
- Valid HR Drivers Licence
- Excavators Ticket
- First Aid Ticket - _highly desirable_
- Skid Steer Ticket - _highly desirable_
- Dogging/ Slinging loads Certification - _highly desirable_
- Confined Space - _desirable_
