**THE ROLE**

The main responsibilities of the role is to be responsible for the daily picking of customer orders to the point of dispatch. This role also covers the packaging and/or repackaging and replenishment of products as needed. In addition, the incumbent is responsible to track measurables or collecting data that can be utilised in statistical packages that affect customer expectations and needs while work within and contribute towards the procedural requirements of the company's quality.

This role will perform any other reasonable duties in other areas of the warehouse when requested by the Warehouse Team Leader. This position reports to the relevant Warehouse Team Leader and receives daily guidance and supervision from the relevant Warehouse Team Leader.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES***:

- Pick customer orders according to published operating procedures and work instructions. Performing this task to the level that all customer orders are picked, wrapped and addressed and delivered to dispatch area in a neat, orderly manner. Orders to be dispatched to customers on or before the requested ship date, free of picking errors and properly packaged and secured. Customers identified with special order procedures must have these instructions followed.
- Receiving function - Receive incoming goods into the warehouse in accordance with current procedures and work instructions. Both sea freight and airfreight consignments are received and available for picking within the agreed timelines.
- Pack all products as required to satisfy customer orders according to published work instructions and operating procedures. All products which require packaging prior to dispatch, eg, Timing Belts, OEM V-Belts, etc, are to be packaged in a neat manner with great care taken to ensure 100% part number accuracy. It is critical that the work instructions for this function be followed carefully.
- Warehouse facility, including work areas and stations are to be kept clean at all times and also ensuring aisles and doorways are kept free of obstructions. Warehouse facility is recognised by customers and staff associates as 'best in class' in terms of housekeeping and quality image. Work facility is recognised as a pleasant and safe environment. Storeperson shares the responsibility of housekeeping with team members by committing to follow their rostered clean-up time and keeping all bins and aisles free of rubbish during the course of their picking duties.
- Each storeperson is required to follow the requirements of the Gates Australia Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, and actively contribute towards the spirit and letter of these policies in order to maintain a 100% LTI free environment.
- Responsible for the processing of all customer returns and the required documentation. All customer returns are completed promptly and efficiently and the stock is either transferred to selling locations or logged in quarantine. All non-conformance reports are completed to the standards listed in the GAPL system procedures.
- Responsible for the replenishment of the prime bin on a daily basis using computer generated reports, picker feedback and visual inspection. The prime bins are kept to maximum levels at all times to facilitate faster, effective and more accurate order picking. Thus reducing the number of high bin picks.
- Participation in annual stocktakes and undertake cycle counting duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 2 year's experience as a storeperson in a similar, fast paced, high SKU count environment.
- Clean driving record.
- Current relevant material handling licenses, such as forklift, high reach forklift, scissor lifts etc
- Experience with RF scanners is an advantage

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move in accordance with the compliance code for manual handling. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
