**Who is the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator?**

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as a national entity responsible for
regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. Located in Brisbane, the NHVR minimises the
compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistencies across state and
territory borders, and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.

whilst enabling greater safety and productivity.

Position Description | WHS Business Partner - Health and Wellbeing

This role reports to the WHS Manager and sits within the Wellbeing, Health and Safety function of the People, Safety and
Culture team. It is an opportunity for a hands-on health, safety and wellbeing business partner to lead, guide and
educate staff on managing critical safety risks, developing and implementing wellbeing initiatives and programs across
the organisation.

**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**
- Assess, recommend and implement appropriate wellbeing initiatives that deliver a positive culture, engagement

and health benefits to NHVR employees.
- Facilitate the continuous improvement of the NHVR’s WHS management system.
- Design, deliver and support awareness campaigns, toolkits, innovative and creative programs of work and resources

on physical and mental health and wellbeing-related topics.

the development and delivery of safety communication and education to employees and leaders.
- Review psychosocial risks across NHVR in partnership with other responsible control owners to minimise where

practicable the psychosocial risks across NHVR’s jurisdictions
- Proactively engage with leaders and employees in changing safety mindsets, habits and behaviours to improve

NHVR culture.
- Collaborate with managers to maximise positive outcomes for injured workers.
- Coordinate the end-to-end rehabilitation and return to work processes for work and non-work related cases, risk

assessments, and return-to-work injury management for workers compensation and non-workers compensation in
your region.
- Coordinate fitness for work provisions for current and future employees including developing and coordinating fit
- for-purpose assessments and criteria, coordinate debrief of results and any required remedial action plans.
- Lead the management maturity and development of NHVR’s internal support networks e.g. First Aid Officers,

Mental Health First Aid Officers and Workplace Contact Officers.
- Adhere to all NHVR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NHVR internal processes.
- Comply with WH&S policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and healthy work environment.

**Skills and Capabilities**
- Understanding of, and experience with, WHS management systems; physical and mental health and wellbeing

principles in a safety critical industry.
- Demonstrated experience of the design, development, and execution of initiatives that addresses physical and

mental health and/or wellbein
