Urban Rivers Officer

**About the role**

As the Urban Rivers Officer you will be part of an integrated water team and responsible for delivering catchment management and waterway improvements project across Ipswich’s many sub catchments. Your main focus will be on managing, delivering and reporting on the 3 year federally funded Urban Rivers program stabilising and improving habitat in our urban waterways.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Deliver the on-ground projects as part of the Urban Rivers Program
- Internal and external reporting on revenue expenditure and outcomes
- Facilitate the improvement of our urban waterways and catchment through managing stabilisation and habitat improvements projects
- Provide technical support to the Waterway Health Officer and the Environment and Conservation Team in the border planning and delivery of catchment management programs
- Liaise with external agencies to report and communicate the progress and outcomes of the project and program

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Bachelor's degree or practical tertiary equivalent qualifications in conservation, environmental management hydrology or civil/environmental engineering or similar
- A current Queensland C Class drivers licence
- Experience in practical project management or on ground project delivery
- Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, resilient, passionate, team focused environmentally inclined
- Belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership

A pre-employment medical is required for this role (including drug and alcohol testing).
