**Trade Overseer - Overseer Ground Maintenance 5D - Hunter Correctional Centre**

**Location**:Hunter Correctional Centre

**Employment type**:Ongoing, Full Time
**Salary**:$94,451pa + Incidental Allowance + Leave Loading + Superannuation
- We are looking for a proactive and dedicated Trade Overseer to work at our Ground Maintenance Unit at the Hunter Correctional Centre, which is in Cessnock.

**Your Role**:

- You will be required to supervise and develop inmates through managing, coaching, instructing, and encouraging them, as members of a team, in order that they may improve their work skills, enhance their post-release employment prospects, and contribute productively to Business Unit objectives.
- Oversee the activities of the team to ensure productivity efficiency and other commercial objectives are achieved whilst ensuring all Workplace Health & Safety, Quality Management requirements and customer service needs are met.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Possess a trade qualification in any of the following relevant trade/tertiary qualifications: Horticulture (Landscaping or
- Parks & Gardens), Construction, Carpentry, Plumbing, (Certificate 3 Minimum) or other related trade.
- In the Trade Overseer role, you will need to;
- Hold a current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or have the capacity to complete Certificate III in Correctional practice in accordance with specified CSNSW timeframes.
- Hold a current NSW Driver Licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle while performing the role.
- Be willing to work across varying trades in a flexible manner to support the team.
- Proven post trade experience.
- Forklift Licence or willingness to obtain
- Meet the Key Accountabilities and Focus Capabilities of the role
- The ability and willingness to work on 5 Day roster (rotating shift 6am to 2pm, 10am to 6pm. Weekly rotation)

**About You**:

- As a member of the team, you are required to:

- Provide a positive role model and demonstrate personal values, such as honesty, ethics and integrity which support CSI, CSNSW and social values
- Positively contribute to the business unit operations through the delivery of work-related inmate training, including the implementation of Inmate Traineeships
- Provide detailed input to case management reporting through the Work Readiness Program.
- Manage resources efficiently and effectively to achieve planned outcomes
- Participate in an after-hours on-call roster, and be willing to work overtime if required to support operational needs
- Create and maintain a safe working environment for staff, contractors, inmates and visitors to comply with all related Work Health & Safety Legislation Policy and Direction
