**Position Overview**
The Rostering Officer is responsible for the effective coordination, scheduling, and maintenance of support worker rosters across YouCare. This role requires exceptional organisation, attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills. The Rostering Officer ensures participants receive high-quality, consistent services while balancing staff availability, skills, training, award compliance, and participant preferences.
This is a fast-paced, dynamic administrative role that directly supports our service delivery team and contributes to our quality and operational success.
**Key ResponsibilitiesRostering & Scheduling**
- Build, manage, and maintain daily, weekly, and long-term rosters for all participants.
- Match support workers based on participant needs, skills, behavioural/medical requirements, and continuity of care.
- Manage unplanned leave, shift changes, and emergencies efficiently.
- Ensure all shifts meet NDIS requirements, high-intensity skill matching, and internal policies.
- Coordinate sleepovers, travel shifts, high-risk shifts, complex supports, and multi-staff rostering as required.
- Forecast roster needs and proactively plan ahead for public holidays, weekends, peak periods, and staff shortages.
**Communication & Coordination**
- Liaise with participants, families, and support coordinators regarding changes or concerns.
- Work closely with Director, Registered Nurse, Operations Manager, Service Delivery Lead, and admin team to maintain smooth daily operations.
- Support recruitment processes by communicating staffing gaps and availability requirements.
**Systems & Compliance**
- Use rostering software to build compliant schedules.
- Ensure rosters comply with SCHADS Award requirements, including:
- Breaks
- Overtime
- Span of hours
- Allowances
- Travel/transport rules
- Broken shifts
- Maintain accurate records of staff availability, certificates, high-intensity training, and expiring competencies.
- Support internal audits by ensuring rostering documentation is complete and properly recorded.
**Customer Service**
- Provide friendly, professional communication with all stakeholders.
- Respond to rostering enquiries in a timely and supportive way.
- Maintain a solutions-focused approach when resolving roster conflicts or unexpected issues.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
