About This Opportunity

As the Principal Project Officer on the project “Understanding and improving responses to suicidality to DVA clients: a data linkage study” you will be responsible for supporting project Chief Investigators by coordinating the delivery of this project to ensure the successful delivery of project-specific outcomes. The role is responsible for a range of activities across the relevant phases of project delivery, including (but not limited to) developing a project plan, data management plan, and ethics and governance documentation; ensuring project outcomes are delivered on time and within budget; coordinating investigator meetings; and engaging with key stakeholders. Knowledge and expertise of the management linked data studies, and knowledge and experience of military and veterans’ mental health or suicidality is an advantage.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Under broad direction, coordinating aspects of the project life-cycle, including planning, procurement, and implementation activities as relevant to the project phase/s- Ensuring compliance with agreed project methodologies and timeframes- Working with research staff and chief investigators to facilitate project-specific research, analysis and reporting activities to achieve project deliverables- Controlling and managing project-related issues, risks, dependencies and/or changes to project plans and/or scope- Evaluating project phases to ensure alignment with project plans and key deliverables- Developing and implementing project-related documentation and other materials including (but not limited to): project plans; data management plan; ethics and research governance documentation- Coordinating a range of project-relevant secretariat and administrative services, including committee meetings, project steering groups and stakeholder/client engagement activities- Building effective relationships with project clients and stakeholders, including (but not limited to) Chief Investigators, DVA project sponsors and stakeholders, Queensland Health and Commonwealth Linkage agencies, and project support staff.

This is a full-time, fixed-term for up to 2 years.

At HEW Level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $93,254.55 - $101,680.96, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $109,107.82 - $118,966.72 annually.

About You- Bachelor’s degree in a health, social science or other relevant discipline with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training.-
- Demonstrated project planning experience, including an understanding of procurement processes and the ability to prioritise tasks, work to tight deadlines, anticipate future requirements and resolve issues.- Demonstrated problem solving skills using judgement and reasoning in interpreting situations and providing accurate and consistent advice.- Effective interpersonal skills that will enable effective working relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders of varying levels of seniority, including Chief Investigators, DVA project sponsors and stakeholders, Queensland Health and Commonwealth Linkage agencies, and project support staff.- Experience of Queensland Health and Australian Institute of Health and Welfare ethics and research governance processes would be advantageous, or a proven ability to quickly learn and understand these processes.- Subject matter expertise in the areas of data linkage and/or
