The role The Principal Project Officer, Community Service Funding Branch will be responsible for supporting implementation of Queensland Women and Girl's Health Strategy 2032 initiatives that relate to community and NGO funding. In supporting implementation of these initiatives, the role will be responsible for commissioning health and human services and managing issues within a complex human services environment for the Department of Health. Responsibilities include developing and implementing performance management frameworks, monitoring service delivery by community providers, and managing program budgets. Additionally, you will undertake research for health service procurement strategies, maintain relationships with stakeholders, prepare executive correspondence, provide advice to senior managers, and lead and direct team members in line with the Department's corporate vision and core values.
This role requires managing health service delivery performance issues, developing and monitoring service agreements, and assisting in implementing specific projects relevant to the Branch's functions. Furthermore, you will collaborate with stakeholders, provide leadership, maintain record management systems for purchasing and funding integrity, and actively participate in supporting quality human resource management practices, including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.As a Principal Project Officer, you will ensure adherence to defined service quality standards and health and safety policies while fulfilling the responsibilities of the role in accordance with QPS values. The successful personSuccessful performance in this position requires proven expertise in commissioning health and human services, including familiarity with issues and funding practices within a complex human service setting. Additionally, proficiency in complex contract development and management of health service arrangements in compliance with relevant legislation is essential.
Furthermore, the role demands demonstrated capability in designing and implementing performance reporting frameworks to assess and monitor service activity. Strong problem-solving abilities and adeptness in complex reasoning are also necessary, including the capacity to analyse situations proactively using a risk management framework and implement practical and innovative strategic and operational solutions effectively.
