**About the Role**

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of patient clinical care.

Your duties will see you developing and maintaining safe clinical practices and excellent clinical outcomes, quality improvement, human resources management and budget preparation of the unit.

**This fast paced and highly rewarding role reports to the Assistant Director of Clinical Services (ADCS - Periop).**

**About You**

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring strong clinical experience in a hospital setting, ideally as a Clinical/Nursing Manager or a senior nurse ready for a leadership role. With exceptional communication skills, you’ll inspire, motivate, and mentor your team, driven by a commitment to high-quality patient care and team growth.

**You will also bring;**
- Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- **Minimum five (5) years’ experience in an acute care setting**:

- Proven knowledge as a senior Nurse or Manager in a similar day surgery or ward is essential
- Management or relevant post-graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded
- Experience or exposure to managing clinical staff recruitment, rostering and performance management
- Experience in day surgery is preferred.

**About the Organisation**

Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is a 187-bed acute Advanced Surgical and Medical Hospital situated on the Pacific Highway at Gateshead, 15 kms south of the Newcastle CBD. In March 2015 the region’s first Private Emergency Department was opened at Lake Macquarie Private, providing another option for people requiring emergency care.

**Requirements**:
