**The Litigation & Disputes Team**
The litigation & disputes team at this firm is one of the largest of its kind in the world. Their Australian practice in particular, is best known for their work on complex, high-value and sensitive litigation, bringing together multi-disciplinary and cross-border teams to assist their large list of clientele.
Their clients include financial institutions, infrastructure & construction companies, resource entities, technology & innovation leaders and government bodies.
The team have extensive expertise on class actions; shareholder disputes; directors duties and remedies under the
- Corporations Act_; ASIC, ACCC and APRA investigations and inquiries; royal commissions; post-acquisition disputes; corporate trustee claims and allegations concerning misleading and deceptive conduct.
**The Role**
There is now a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial litigation Associate to join the team in Brisbane. This role will see you supporting a highly regarded Partner in a broad range of commercial litigation matters across the infrastructure & mining, consumer markets, regulatory, real estate, transport and government sectors.
- Some of your responsibilities will include: _
- Drafting advice, pleadings and preparing matters for hearing
- Attending witness conferences and preparing affidavits and witness statements
- Briefing senior and junior Counsel
- Appearing in directions hearings and conferences
- Preparing for, and attending court and mediations
- Mentoring graduates, summer clerks and junior lawyers
- Assisting with business development and marketing initiatives
**Requirements**:
To be successful, you will be an ambitious lawyer with at least
**2 years’ PQE** across a wide variety of commercial litigation matters in a reputable team.
In addition, you will have the following:
- A client service approach and ability to develop strong client relations
- Exceptional analytical, drafting and communication skills
- Strong time management & organisation skills to manage competing priorities
- Excellent academic record
