- Study for an accredited qualification: Certificate III in Business
Tuggeranong Arts Centre was built in 1998 and is managed by the Tuggeranong Community Arts Association. Its programs center on building audiences to engage and participate in the arts so that is a place where everyone is welcome. It presents a vibrant program of activities that cover several artforms - with key programs Fresh Funk and Messengers focusing on young people.
Tuggeranong Arts Centre’s Front of House activities are the most prominent interaction with our visitors. This role is responsible for ensuring that TAC presents as professional, friendly and inclusive when interacting with the general public and the wider community. The Front-of-House Trainee will be an energetic and enthusiastic all-rounder with administration and office skills. This role is an integral part of the team ensuring that our office and operations run smoothly. This role will be required to work at the information desk during opening hours (Tuesday - Saturday) in frontline delivery of visitor services.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Oversee, deliver and monitor Front of House operations to ensure that visitors have a pleasant and positive experience
- Reception duties including the taking of enrolments, payments, events ticketing, message taking, accept and distribute deliveries, and passing on enquiries to the appropriate staff member
- Support external events/activities including calendar bookings, resource requirements (catering, equipment, furniture, AV etc);
- Assisting programs, projects and marketing with administrative tasks which may include photocopying, filing, invoicing, ticketing, database management and collation of visitor statistics.
- Support the presentation and delivery of TAC’s own program of events and activities (eg exhibition openings, events, workshops);
- Coordination of day-to-day hiring requirements, room set ups and pack downs
- Ensure that the work environment and public spaces meets cleanliness and WHS requirements at all times.
- Other duties as directed by CEO.
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
1. A permanent right to work in Australia
2. Holds a Higher School Certificate or equivalent
3. Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
4. Ability to work independently with capacity to prioritise and manage own time to meet deadlines and agreed team expectations
5. Demonstrates competent computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
6. Demonstrates enthusiasm and a positive attitude
7. Willingness to work a Tuesday - Saturday working week
Other requirements:
1. A current ACT Working with Vulnerable People clearance or ability to obtain
2. Responsible Service of Alcohol or be prepared to undertake relevant course
Desirable:
- Experience in working in a sales/retail/hospitality environment; including familiarity with POS systems, ticketing (Trybooking), database (Class Manager)
- A current First Aid certificate or be prepared to undertake relevant course;
- An appreciation or enthusiasm for art and culture.
**SALARY**
$24,000 - $38,000 plus 10.5% Superannuation
- National Training Wage Award
- Fully Funded Qualification
**MORE INFORMATION**
- People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
- This position is best suited to a recent secondary school leaver.
