**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced and passionate **Head Barista** to lead our coffee team and ensure the highest standards of coffee preparation, customer service, and team management. The Head Barista plays a key role in creating an exceptional customer experience and upholding our café’s reputation for quality coffee.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare and serve consistently high-quality coffee and other beverages to café standards.
- Lead, train, and mentor junior baristas and café staff.
- Manage daily coffee bar operations, including workflow, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of coffee beans, milk, and consumables.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health & safety standards.
- Calibrate grinders and espresso machines daily to maintain coffee quality.
- Collaborate with management on menu development, specials, and coffee offerings.
- Provide excellent customer service, handle customer feedback, and build rapport with regulars.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures for the coffee station.
- Report on coffee sales, wastage, and improvements.

**Skills & Experience**
- Minimum **3 years’ barista experience**, with at least **1 year in a supervisory or leadership role**.
- Strong knowledge of specialty coffee, latte art, brewing methods, and equipment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on consistency and quality.
- Basic understanding of ordering, rostering, and stock management.

**Qualifications** (preferred but not always required)
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) - if serving alcohol.
- Food Safety or Hygiene Certificate.
- Coffee training or specialty coffee certifications (highly regarded).
