The incumbent is required to teach classes that accommodate mixed abilities, promote the objectives of pastoral care at St Michael’s, and commit to co-curricular activities during the School year according to the co-curricular responsibilities structure.

The successful incumbent will have the ability to teach Humanities more broadly across years 7 to 10 for Term 3 only on a fixed term contract with a 1.0 load. Experience in teaching Year 7-10 History is preferable.

**The successful applicant must**:

- Be a qualified teacher and be able to demonstrate a suitable tertiary qualification in teaching and their methods.
- Have experience teaching Humanities across Years 7 to 10, particular focus on teaching History.
- Be willing to be involved in all aspects of the School’s program.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students.
- Have high level communication skills.
- Be able to work independently but also as part of a dynamic, creative and collaborative team.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to following the School’s child safety expectations, principles and policies.
- Hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
- Hold a current Anaphylaxis Certificate.
- Hold a current National Police Check (obtained within the last 6 months).
