Operations Manager

**An opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our team at our Brisbane Factory**

**About The Role**

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to join us at our Brisbane Factory as an Operations Manager, working morning shift.

Drawing from your well-rounded experience and demonstrating a commitment to health and safety, you will be a pivotal member of the team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be accountable for the effective and efficient manufacturing and retreading of truck tyres.

Working morning shift, 5:00am to 1.15pm, you will take on a hands-on role responsible for:

- Demonstrate commitment to operating safely and contributing to continuous improvement.
- Ensuring the team develop a strong safety culture.
- Ensure the factory maintains its Michelin MQS accreditation with the support of the Administration and Quality Officer.
- Support and ensure the Administration and Quality Officer has the tools and training to able to effectively perform their duties and ensuring all MQS requirements are achieved.
- Manage the recruitment and performance of all staff including taking appropriate action where necessary for unsatisfactory performance in any area.
- Ensuring the factory is operating efficiently to ensure production targets are achieved and customer tyres are completed within acceptable turnaround times.
- Support the Michelin Retread Manager & business development personnel to assist in the growth and development of the retread tyre market.
- Lead & coach factory team to achieve safety, quality and production targets while ensuring their personal development.
- Ensure all claims are handled in a timely manner and work with the Michelin commercial team to ensure claims are closed out appropriately.
- Coordinate and lead customer factory visits where required.
- Efficient management of tread and other consumable stock commensurate with production requirements.
- Lead and ensure all employees are appropriately trained to carry out their roles in a safe manner while ensuring all quality.

- Utilise appropriate Michelin personnel, where available, to assist this process.
- Develop and effectively manage relationships with key suppliers and customers to ensure open communication is maintained, the appropriate level of service is delivered and payments are made on time.
- Ensure the tyre pick-up and delivery service is organised to ensure it operates efficiently and at the lowest total cost while maintaining an appropriate level of customer service is delivered.
- Lead regular toolbox meetings with support from the Quality and Administration Officer to communicate safety, production, quality and other general issues or requirements and to seek feedback on potential continuous improvement ideas.
- Provide information and general support to the Accounts/Payroll Administrator.
- Initiate continuous improvement activities related to safety, employee performance, cost management and sales growth as well as provide appropriate support for other Black Rubber senior management driven improvement initiatives.

**About You**

Essential:

- Results-driven attitude with a strong focus on achieving targets and enhancing efficiency.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills with a commitment to safety.
- Demonstrated understanding of safety systems, requirements and maintaining compliance.
- Developed written and oral communication and responds positively and generates solutions to issues via collaboration.
- At least 5 years of proven operations management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Forklift Licence

Desirable:

- Knowledge and understanding of the tyre and wheel sector.
- HR Truck Licence.

Black Rubber owns and operates the Michelin tyre retreading factories in Perth WA, Sydney NSW and Brisbane QLD which enables us to ensure the quality of the Michelin and Recamic retread product remains the benchmark in the industry. Our manufacturing and supply capability enables us to provide whole-of-life tyre and casing management from original tread through re-grooving and multi-retread lives. The impact of this strategy is to ensure the lowest total cost of tyres for Black Rubber customers.

**Salary**: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
