
Medical Receptionist

Oxford Street Medical Centre in Bulimba is looking for an experienced Medical receptionist for our private billing clinic. This will be a part time/casual position. Ideally we are seeking someone who is flexible enough to take on extra hours when staff are away etc.
We are seeking a passionate and reliable medical receptionist with a minimum 1 year experience in general practice (and Best Practice software). Other medical or Allied Health Reception experience would also be considered and training is available.
We are a caring and close knit team of of 7 Doctors, 5 receptionists, 2 nurses and 2 allied health with a great team culture and enjoy coming to work to provide some of the best quality healthcare for our patients.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
- Act as the first point of contact for all phone calls and patients, ensuring a welcoming and warm first impression.
- Maintain and adhere to confidentiality requirements.
- A sound knowledge of the day-to-day operations of the front desk including booking, billing and invoicing
- Patient Triage
- Assisting patients with enquires
- Opening and Closing of clinic
- Liaising with doctors, nurses and patients
- Scanning and sending medical records
- Stocking doctors rooms
- Basic cleaning duties
- General trouble shooting skills of Telephone system, Internet, printers and other clinical equipment
**What you will bring to the role**:
- Reliability and flexibility
- Possess a positive and happy personality
- Accurate computer skills.
- Excellent telephone skills are necessary.
- Administration and data entry experience ideally gained within health/medical.
- A good knowledge of medicare item numbers and billing would be preferred
- Well organized and time efficient.
- Ability to multi-task
- Possess a caring and compassionate nature with a genuine desire to assist the patients using our facility, both in person and over the phone
- Have Medical or Allied Health Reception Experience
This role involves a variety of clerical duties and the provision of exceptional customer service including: patient registration and billing, booking appointments, Medicare claims, completion of work summary and batching.
The ability to work under pressure, control the waiting room and complete tasks accurately and on time is highly desirable.
This Job also has a strong Customer Service side. This means you must have the ability to speak easily and confidently to our Clients.

You will be provided full administrative support from experienced medical staff.
