Your Role

Working in conjunction with the Industry Practices Property Product Manager to profitably grow and develop the Industry Practices Property portfolio in line with the agreed plan and objectives. Provide support and guidance to underwriting staff to enable them to carry out their duties and responsibilities.

Your Responsibilities

Reviews, analyses, accepts or rejects complex referral risks for new business and renewals (including accounts outside underwriters set authority levels) in designated line of business.

Provides advice and consultation to underwriting staff in areas of specialised knowledge; assists in training and development of underwriting staff.

Consults with other product lines to ensure any cross-selling or package opportunities, while also providing a consistent and timely response to the producer.

Works in conjunction with the Industry Practices Property Product Manager and Property Manager A&NZ to ensure growth & profitability objectives are met.

Liaise with producers as required to obtain necessary underwriting information, promote satisfactory service relationship and to encourage the submission of targeted business.

Coordinates business submitted outside of assigned area with other Chubb product lines

Assists in monitoring and controlling quality of underwriting efforts within assigned area of business, including but not limited to co-ordinating monthly peer reviews in line with COG peer review requirements.

Recommends changes to standards or procedures as necessary (including maintenance of policies & procedures from time to time).

Works with the Industry Practices Property Product Manager, Property Manager A&NZ, Regional Property Manager and COG Product Managers to update local underwriting guidelines and create new or revised products as required including products transacted on Market Facing Platforms

Assists management in developing plans and objectives to increase premium volume within the assigned specialised line(s).

Works in conjunction with the State Distribution Managers and Head of the P&C NUC to meet the training and development needs of staff in A&NZ as determined in the performance planning and talent management process.

Attends meetings and fosters relationships with key clients.

Assists annual portfolio reviews and executes agreed strategies.

Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned including the adoption of new operating platforms and the associated migration of policies

**Qualifications**:
Your Skills & Experience

Successful completion of a relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent business experience.

Broad knowledge of Insurance Industry and specific Product Underwriting developed from at least seven (7) years in a Product Underwriting position.

Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to be capable of dealing with all levels of Chubb personnel as well as in dealing with producers and clients.

Proven analytical skills necessary to judge the desirability of complex or unusual risks within the Product Line of Business.

Strong producer/intermediary relationships in the insurance market and the ability to present marketing and educational presentations to producers.

Demonstrated ability to develop understandable training material for the development of Underwriters, along with the ability to act as a mentor to them.

Ability to implement general business procedures and practices.

Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate leadership qualities.

An understanding of the various business operating models and the technology (eg. Flow Co and Field Co) which supports each model
