**About the Role**
Ventia’s Retail Stores team are seeking a flexible and capable Storeperson** **to join their team based at Leeuwin Barracks in East Fremantle. Regular travel throughout the base facilities will be required as well as travel to other bases within your areas of responsibility, therefore, you will have access to company vehicles to carry out work related tasks.
As the Storeperson your main responsibilities will be to support the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure the warehouse operates smoothly. Working collaboratively in a small team, you will be responsible for managing the supply chain process and handling customer orders and interactions. You will also take inventory of the warehouse stock and assist with furniture removal / relocation.
**About you**
You are an individual who has a thorough understanding of use of online systems and computer literate. You are detail oriented, organised and adhere to all warehouse safety practices and demonstrate excellent communication and time management skills. Previous experience in a warehouse role is preferable.
**Key duties, but not limited to**:
- Manage and process all good in and goods out from receipting through to despatch and ensure the accuracy of the processing of paperwork
- Receipting inbound goods, unloading trucks & containers, checking goods & stock allocation
- Undertake stock takes as required and justification of any stock discrepancies
- Purchase order requesting, data entry and monthly reporting through our operating system.
- Comply with and maintain industry best practice housekeeping and stock security standards, including ensuring the storage and distribution site is secured daily
- Maintain all equipment for normal operation and ensure the safe use of
- Managing incoming/outgoing calls & communication with customers & stakeholders
- Adhering to, and meeting strict safety standards and quality control as per Occupational Health & Safety guidelines, including the storage of hazardous chemicals
- Assist with the relocation and removal of furniture within the barracks.
**Skills & experience**:
- Previous experience in a warehouse stores environment
- Ability to work autonomously, as well as in a small team.
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to work to strict time constraints.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft suite, and inventory systems will be highly regarded
- Experience maintaining professional relationships with internal and external customers
- Must be reliable and able to meet the physical requirements of the role
- Australian Citizenship and a valid Drivers licence - MR licence highly regarded
**Other special conditions**
The incumbent to this position must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of Negative Vet 1. As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen. This position requires a National Police check.
