The department’s ICT Division has spent the last 12-months achieving significant milestones that have kicked-off a transformational journey focused on laying the foundation for a technologically advanced, secure, and independent ICT environment that is adaptable, innovative, and capable of supporting the diverse needs of our internal and external customers. The ICT Business and Governance Branch is responsible for key enabling functions that underpin our ICT strategic planning, investment, purchases, governance, communications and operational workforce, working broadly across the division and the department. Our ICT Business Solution and Security Branch, where these roles sit, is responsible for the delivery of the ICT business solutions lifecycle from design to sustainment, as well as the department’s cyber security - adopting a security by design approach to solutions - and artificial intelligence capability. The ICT Operational Services and Infrastructure Branch is responsible for the delivery and support of ICT services across the department, portfolio agencies and to Ministers. Responsibilities include network security and support, the delivery, deployment and support of remote and field ICT and critical incident response.

The Cyber Team support the department’s cyber security efforts through monitoring, analysis, and response to cyber security incidents. They provide cyber related advice and guidance to inform key decisions of the department’s ICT network and products.

**The Job**
- Monitor and manage cyber security requests: Monitor the ITSA inbox, including actioning general enquiries, triaging requests and collaborating with other team members to ensure prompt resolution.
- Collaborate across the ICT Division to support strategic outcomes: Work closely with both the ICT Division and the broader department to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to cyber security.
- Support governance, risk and compliance activities: Manage / maintain tracking registers to record outcomes of decisions and advice.
- Support Whole of Government compliance: Assist other team members to ensure compliance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and the Information Security Manual (ISM).
- Maintain the Cyber Security intranet presence: Develop and maintain the section’s intranet page to ensure our advice is accurate and relevant.
- Increase cyber security awareness across the Department. Support the development and delivery of the Department’s cyber security training program.

**Skills and Capabilities**
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to ensure the delivery of cyber related advice and outcomes across the department.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, interpret and evaluate information and then communicate insights to diverse stakeholder groups through well-developed written, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to quickly learn technical ICT concepts to deliver robust business outcomes.
- Display self-awareness, change readiness and personal resilience, and take responsibility for own (and others) development and continuous learning.

**Knowledge and experience**

As an APS 5, you will possess an understanding of cyber security operations or technologies and have, or have a willingness to gain, certification in:

- Cyber security operations
- Security risk management
- Incident management
- Digital forensics
- Cyber threat intelligence.

**Eligibility**
- **Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.
- ** Security Clearance** - This position requires a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
- ** Pre-employment Check** - Your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance and where required a pre-employment medical assessment, specified mandatory qualification(s) validation and a probation period of 6 months.
