The Innovation Division is focused on driving economic growth, job creation and better outcomes for Queensland through innovation. The division connects the innovation policy agenda, program design and delivery, and the coordination of Advance Queensland across the department and at a whole-of-government level.We connect and partner with key stakeholders to drive economic growth and foster a high performing and well-networked innovation ecosystem throughout Queensland.
The Strategic Projects and Governance team is responsible for overarching coordination of Advance Queensland (AQ) strategy development and program delivery. The team oversees policy direction and program governance and coordinates all strategic matters relating to Advance Queensland and innovation as whole-of-government priority. The team is also responsible for initiation of strategic projects in response to emerging priorities.Working within the Strategic Projects and Governance team you will assist with the implementation, delivery and management of selected programs and projects offered under the Advance Queensland initiative.As the Principal Policy Officer you will: - Develop and administer a range of initiatives and actions across allocated programs such as the Queensland Innovation Precincts and Places Strategy that will ultimately create high-value jobs and provide positive economic outcomes. Develop partnerships with key stakeholders that support initiatives such as innovation precincts and places in Queensland from across the corporate sector, universities and other service providers. Create and foster relationships across the innovation eco-system through constructive conversations that support innovation across Queensland. Identify opportunities to grow the Queensland innovation ecosystem and collaborate across the Queensland's priority industry sectors. Work strategically to actively solve problems and deliver outcomes and results in a dynamic environment while maintaining professional processes and protocols. Lead or contribute to the preparation and development of high-level advice, submissions, responses, plans, reports, policy documents, briefing notes and other departmental correspondence as identified and directed by senior officers and management. Undertake relevant activities including program development, prepare research papers, develop policy positions and contract management. Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
