Our client is seeking a new buyer/category manager to join their procurement team working with direct materials. You'd ensure that the supply of materials and/or packaging is adequate to maintain production within inventory and supply constraints.
**The Role -**
- Ensuring that raw materials being ordered are of the correct specification required.
- Manage the planning parameters in SAP to provide the best business outcomes for SLOB and supply.
- Providing assistance to the Procurement team by providing purchasing related information on vendors and materials for upload into SAP. Maintain updated pricing and other SAP Parameters to obtain the best business outcome.
- Resolve suppliers delivery issues and escalate to Senior Buyer, Supply Planning and Procurement team any unresolved matters. Monitor shelf life and rejects and return to suppliers stock that does not meet the business requirements.
**To be Successful -**
- Minimum 3-5 years SAP purchasing experience or equivalent supply chain experience.
- Understanding of Food manufacturing and the supplier network within the Food Industry is preferred.
- Understanding of supply chain planning principles
- Ideally a high level of SAP understanding or equivalent ERP System
- Experience in analyzing data and generating insights (Strong excel skills required)
