**About The Role**:

We’re looking for a **Head Roaster** to lead roasting operations at our Noosa roastery. This full-time, hands-on role involves overseeing daily production, maintaining quality control standards, and managing warehouse operations.

**What You'll Bring**:

- A strong background in specialty coffee roasting and production
- The ability to work independently, while thriving in a team environment
- A passion for producing consistent, high-quality coffee
- Great organisational and communication skills
- Experience leading small teams or a desire to grow into a leadership role
- A love of learning—and a willingness to help others grow too

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Roast and cup espresso blends and single origin coffees
- Maintain consistent roast profiles and uphold quality standards
- Oversee warehouse operations and production scheduling
- Manage wholesale dispatch logistics
- Collaborate with the team on green buying, seasonal releases, and blend development
- Maintain roasting and production equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Contribute to staff training, education, and professional development
- Represent First Batch Coffee with integrity and enthusiasm

**Essential Skills and Experience**:

- Proven experience in coffee roasting (ideally in a lead or production capacity)
- Solid understanding of green coffee, roast profiling, and quality control (HACCP knowledge a plus)
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and accountability
- A valid driver’s license

**Desirable (But not Mandatory)**:

- Experience managing teams or leading production environments
- Technical knowledge of roasting equipment and maintenance
- Warehousing or logistics experience
- Barista or customer-facing specialty coffee experience
