**About the Opportunity**

Reporting to the Certification Technical Officer Manager, the Safety & Certification Technical Officer is responsible for contributing to the operational readiness of submarines’. The role will also have a heavy involvement with stakeholders of all levels in the Submarine Enterprise both in an operational environment and during the maintenance availabilities and Full Cycle Dockings.

This role is a full time Permanent position, based in Osborne, SA.

**Responsibilities**
- Conduct Witnessing activities to support the management of the SUBSAFE boundary;
- Operate the Submarine Safety Control Centre (SSCC)
- Conduct the duties of Platform Safety Coordinator (PSC) and/or Duty Platform Coordinator (DPC) (dependent on attained qualifications)
- Contribute to the review and update of technical and test documentation
- Support the SUBSAFE Coordinator role during designated periods for designated maintenance availabilities

**About you**
- Appropriate trade qualifications with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a maritime, naval or dockyard environment
- Good information technology skills and awareness/knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Experience in managing multiple challenging stakeholders
- Demonstrated strong initiative

**Eligibility**

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
