**Facility Supervisor**:

- **We are seeking a casual Facility Supervisor to work across the Youth2Independence Accommodation sites in Hobart.**
- **The role involves 24 hour shifts including sleepovers and 24 hour shift pay loading.**

- **About the role**:

- This is a “live in” position providing after hours support and assistance to young people residing at Youth2Independence Accommodation sites in Hobart. This position is required to undertake cleaning of the communal areas, office space and vacant units and minor maintenance. Anglicare’s Housing and Homelessness Services provide a range of programs across the State supporting people to establish and maintain a safe, stable, long-term housing.
- **What you will be doing in this role**:

- Maintain grounds and garden including keeping gardens neat and tidy and purchasing household requirements within an agreed budget;
- Attend to basic maintenance of the property such as: minor repairs, replacing light bulbs, unblocking drains, cleaning guttering, minor painting jobs and liaise with Anglicare maintenance crews to facilitate major maintenance tasks;
- Provide limited on-call assistance to residents outside 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday to ensure the smooth running of the property;
- Assist the Senior Worker by contributing to policy and procedure formation, annual evaluations, internal quality assurance reviews, writing of required reports and other planning processes;
- Provide accurate notes and statistics and undertake associated clerical and administrative tasks;
- Maintain a safe working environment.

- **You must have**:

- Demonstrated capacity to undertake maintenances tasks including preventive maintenance to upkeep site to high standard;
- A knowledge of the issues pertaining to people experiencing homelessness and a conceptual understanding of the social and political context in which they occurs and the concept of an issues associated with communal living;
- High level interpersonal and verbal communication skills including the ability to engage with young people in a respectful manner that promotes independence and resilience;
- Well-developed computer and written communication skills including the ability to, prepare and write reports, collect data and complete evaluations and keep accurate and appropriate records;
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding privacy and confidentiality;
- Sound understanding of relevant legislation including the Residential Tenancy Act 1997 and occupational health and safety requirements or willingness to develop these;
- Ability to contribute to a professional team environment including team de-briefing, program planning activities and a variety of other team based consultative processes;
- Good time management skills with the ability to effectively set priorities and manage an ability to plan and implement general cleaning and maintenance duties for the site.
- **The successful applicant will be required to**:

present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (National Police Check) which is no older than 12 months;
- provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
- complete a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical;
- provide a current provisional or full Australian Drivers Licence.
- On commencement the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
