We are busy, and are looking for 2 experienced landscapers to join our team.

**Overview of this position**

Our team of site staff undertake landscaping to create play spaces. This involves hard and soft landscaping, including installing play equipment items. Some maintenance of existing play spaces is also carried out by the landscaping team.

The role carries out the various tasks as listed below. This position is mainly based on site, as well as working at the workshop occasionally, when and as required (e.g. preparing reticulation, planning a project, or in very wet weather/thunderstorms, etc.).

**Qualification**

Relevant Certificate II or IV qualification

**Experience**

Plus at least 2 years relevant extensive experience demonstrating equivalent knowledge and skill in addition to the qualification

OR

3 years relevant extensive experience demonstrating equivalent knowledge and skill

**Key duties and responsibilities**
- Analyse nature based play space landscape designs, including layout of levels, areas for lawn/artificial turf, paths, location of planned play equipment items, retaining walls, trees, other plants, etc.
- Clear and prepare the area, e.g. levels of the site, for appropriate hard landscaping (e.g. installing any equipment/furniture, paving, limestone block retaining walls) and soft landscaping (e.g. planting plants and trees)
- Machine / tool use and maintenance
- Reticulation preparation and installation
- Prepare soil appropriately for planting and lawn, to facilitate healthy growth
- Install artificial turf and construct gravel and paved areas, walls, fences, decking, play areas, pathways, benches and play equipment/ furniture
- Planting set out / planting
- Complete and/or assist with concrete work e.g. paths (formwork, pour, etc.)
- Maintenance tasks including all aspects of landscape gardening: edging, weeding, topping up mulch and sand, monitor and maintain planted and lawn areas, planting, pruning trees and plants, blowing, weed control, and some timber maintenance, e.g. staining, etc.
- Monitor and maintain planted and grassed areas - weeding, trimming, fertilizing, watering/reticulation maintenance and mowing
- Ensure the work environment is kept tidy and safe for self, co-workers, and visitors
- Adhere to occupational health and safety requirements, for example use of PPE, identifying hazards, working in accordance with safe work practices, ensuring competency prior to undertaking any task

**Skills**
- Landscaping and gardening experience **essential**:

- Ticket or experience with excavator and/or skid steer **desirable**:

- Ticket or experience with chainsaw and quick cut saw **desirable**:

- Experience with landscaping related to children’s play spaces **desirable**:

- Strong commitment to and working knowledge of safe work practices **essential**:

- Team player with the ability to work as part of a team, as well as working unsupervised **essential**:

- Commitment to an excellent work standard and eye for detail **essential**:

- Ability to use initiative and foresight, balanced with following instructions from site supervisor **essential**:

Salary - $60k to $70k

Location - Kewdale, WA

**Salary**: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
