**About the role**

The Development Assessment Team is responsible for delivering a high standard of advice to customers and key stakeholders regarding Council’s desired development and heritage outcomes, to achieve a quality urban environment within the Inner West Local Government Area. The primary focus of the role is to provide heritage advice to internal and external stakeholders in the development assessment process. You will work with a team of heritage and urban design professionals ensuring that the team works to meet its targets and commitments against your team and Council’s Operational and Strategic Plans. You will facilitate partnerships, across Council, and help solve problems and resolve issues with regard to heritage matters.

**Remuneration**

$89,906.7 - $105,564.42 (pro rata based on 28 hours) + 12% Superannuation + Car Allowance

**Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Urban & Regional Planning, Heritage Conservation or equivalent related discipline
- Extensive experience and knowledge in heritage related matters in the development assessment field
- A working knowledge of Heritage Act 1977 and related legislation and also The Burra Charter and concepts as they relate to development assessment
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team and commitment to its functions to achieve outcomes that address current challenges for the IWC and its commitments to the community
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to deliver and embed a culture of excellent customer service.
