Hydraulic Technician

The operation is designed for a +30 year mine life and production of 8Mtpa. We are seeking a capable and experienced** Hydraulic Technician **to join our busy Maintenance department. This position is responsible for ongoing maintenance, installation of hydraulic components and equipment to ensure operational maintenance meets Karara standards of safety, efficiency and quality.

This position operates on an **8 days on and 6 days off, 7 nights on and 7 days off **roster.

**Key duties & responsibilities;**
- Perform assigned scheduled and unscheduled work in a timely manner
- Conduct fault finding activities to ensure faults identification and rectification
- Review inventory and spares to ensure all required components are available and in stock, preventing supply shortages
- Perform all tasks to the specification and quality advised by equipment manufacturers
- Identify, implement and communicate improvement opportunities in all hydraulics and maintenance processes
- Provide input on Short Term Interval Control task management assisting in the identification of any remedial actions to ensure tasks are completed in the planned timeframe and safety is not compromised
- Inspect, tag and report all out of service tooling or equipment requiring repair
- Proactively record comments on work orders after the completion of each task noting identified opportunities for improvement
- Ensure all materials are available before starting a task and that any pre-works are completed to the required quality
- Complete post outage inspections and relative documentation ensuring equipment is ready to be brought back in to service
- Close all work orders in SAP upon completion of maintenance tasks
- Complete daily timesheets outlining specific tasks carried out on that day
- Communicate and escalate downtime of equipment to your supervisor immediately as per the Downtime Escalation Process
- Analysing existing processes and making recommendations for continuous improvement to ensure the most effective process is considered

**Essential Qualifications and experience;**
- Valid ‘C’ Class WA Drivers’ License
- A relevant trade qualification with exposure to fitting competency or specialisation in hydraulic componentry
- Proven and demonstrated high level of exposure to hydraulic systems and fault finding
- Demonstrated trade/post-trade experience working in a process plant equipment in a mining or other heavy industry
- Proven experience with generic process plant policies and procedures
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, SAP maintenance and risk assessment systems
- Knowledge and experience in using a CMMS
- Experience within a processing environment working with process pumps, grinding processes, mills magnetic separation, crushing, screens, conveyors and Larox filters. (beneficial)
- National Police Clearance
- Australian Citizenship or hold a valid visa with permission to work
