The Avant Law professional conduct team is expanding to meet the increasing need to defend medical practitioners against claims made against them. We are seeking a Paralegal to join our Melbourne team for a permanent, full-time role. **Key responsibilities for this role include**:

- Assisting Solicitors in the management of a legal practice and contribute to the effective functioning of the Legal team.
- Provide an administrative support function to Avant Law including assisting to prepare legal documentation including briefs, drafting correspondence, court filing, liaising with witnesses, experts, court and/or tribunal staff and assisting with processing of Avant Law’s invoices for professional services.
- Coordinating meetings and travel arrangements.
- Processing accounts payable invoices, monthly billings and MasterCard reconciliations.
- Assisting with general office administration.

**The successful applicant will have**:

- Previous demonstrated experience in an administrative or paralegal position in a legal environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fast and accurate typing skills including digital dictation typing.
- Experience drafting and formatting legal documentation.
- The ability to balance multiple priorities, meet deadlines and show attention to detail.
- Intermediate level of competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience in preparing and maintaining legal files.
