**What You Will Be Doing**

The General Surgery Fellow will assume a supervised and supported, general surgery consultant role. The role has been created to transition recently qualified surgeons to independent practice as a general surgeon.
Peninsula Health delivers surgical services to public patients at two sites: Frankston Hospital and Frankston Private Hospital. Frankston Hospital operates 10 operating rooms, including a dedicated Emergency Theatre and an interventional Vascular suite. Peninsula Health also provides care at Peninsula Health Surgical Centre through five operating rooms, including one endoscopy theatre.

Urology.
The General Surgery Fellow is supported by 16 General Surgeons. The Fellow has access to regular theatre time, with both elective and emergency lists, and outpatient clinics. The Fellow has the opportunity to participate in the on call roster, always with a consultant rostered as back-up. Peninsula Health is committed to encouraging and fostering an environment of continued learning and skill development.

**What You Need**

We anticipate you will have:

- MBBS degree (or equivalent)
- Successful completion of FRACS 2nd part exaM/FRACS (or equivalent)
- Eligible for registration with AHPRA as a medical practitioner
- Demonstrated initiative and self-direction
