**Assistant Policy Officer, Temporary, Sydney, (Targeted Disability role)**

- **Full-time temporary role for 6 months, with a possibility of an extension.**
- **Flexible working conditions, with requirement to travel to Sydney CBD (near to public transport) from time to time**
- ** Salary from $89,707 - $98,982 p/a base salary, dependent on experience**

**About us**
This role sits in the heart of the Department of Customer Service, in the Office of the Secretary. The Office of the Secretary is a diverse, inclusive and flexible workplace. The role involves contributing to high quality advice and supporting delivery of Cabinet priorities for the Department, Secretary and Ministers. You will also get to contribute to projects that are priorities for the Ministers, Secretary and Government.

**You will have the opportunity to**:

- Gain exposure to senior decision-makers
- Work on tasks across the work of the Customer Service Cluster and develop understanding and relationships with a number of different agencies across the cluster.
- Be involved in a range of projects

**To be successful in this role, you will**:

- Be a person with disability (as essential requirement)
- Take initiative and have a can-do attitude
- Experience preparing written advice and briefs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to work with limited supervision
- Demonstrated experience of how government works and have a solid understanding of government processes
- Be able to build and maintain positive relationships
- Prepare high quality advice, briefs and cabinet comments
- Provide high quality secretariat support to governance groups
- Help to develop practical solutions to complex matters
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
