We are at the pointy end of industry supervision for the liquor, gaming, wagering, casino and registered club sectors in NSW. **About the role**

The Assistant Policy Officer involves supporting policy development and implementation, with key responsibilities, whilst not limited to, include conducting research, preparing reports, and contributing to policy projects that align with government priorities. This role assists in managing stakeholder engagement, providing administrative support, and ensuring the smooth delivery of policy initiatives. The position focuses on providing advice to decision makers relating to liquor and gaming policy. It offers the opportunity to engage in policy creation, administrative coordination, and the communication of policy decisions to internal and external stakeholders.

**About You**

To be successful in this position you will possess:

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Collaborative team player who can work effectively within a group to achieve shared outcomes.
- A basic understanding of government processes, governance, and public administration.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to support evidence-based policy development.
- The ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to deliver quality outcomes.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and taking initiative when needed.
