Afternoon Shift for Causal ELICOS teacher
4-9:30pm Monday to Thursday, Elementary Level
**Duties/Responsibilities**:
- To impart the knowledge, skills and attitude required for students to achieve competency within their selected ESL level grouping.
- To deliver all teaching under CE policies and procedures and other related regulations and requirements, the ESOS Act, National Code of Practice and the National Standards for ELICOS.
- Perform the Teacher’s role in an effective, professional manner.
- Train and assess in compliance with the requirements of CE.
- Attend each scheduled teaching sessions fully prepared and punctually, at least 30 minutes before session commences.
- Deliver completed student administration paperwork for filing within the appropriate timeframes (i.e. by close of business each working day).
- Advise, assist and encourage students to develop their educational programs strategies and make them aware of the opportunities and facilities available.
- Participate in the student complaints and appeals process in accordance with CE policies and procedures as required.
- Prepare lesson/session plans, unit’s outlines, handouts, assignments and assessments for each unit taught.
- Submit copies of all prepared material to the Director of Studies (DoS) prior to the commencement of the unit.
- Maintain organisational version control for all training and assessment materials produced.
- Read all manuals and legislative documents and to familiarise oneself with all organisational requirements.
- To accurately complete attendance sheet at every lesson noting absences, lateness and sign where indicated
- Ensure that all students are provided with the unit outline and handouts for every unit.
- Inform the Director of Studies of any unacceptable student behaviour.
- Distribute student feedback forms and complete Teacher feedback forms at the conclusion of each unit and collect them for review at the nominated times.
- Contribute to the overall success of CE.
- Maintain knowledge and skills at a level consistent with modern developments in education, and within their own areas of technical expertise.
- Ensure that all students are aware of their responsibilities under the WH&S Act in the learning environment.
- Insist that all students observe recognised safety practices at all times on the premises.
- Insist on a high standard of dress, conduct and attitude from all students, and be exemplary in their own presentation.
- Undertake professional development to maintain professional competence
- Attend regular staff meetings and participate in the Teaching sessions provided by the Director of Studies and from time to time, attend moderation and validation meetings at the time and location requested by CE.
- Maintain the highest educational and teaching standards.
- Contribute to the recommendation of new resources within allocated budget
