As an authorised person for HV Switching, you will undertake training delivered by Public Transport Authority and followed by mentoring to complete your qualifications and gain accreditation to switch, test, and earth on the PTA Network.

As an Authorised Person, some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Follow the directions of the PTA superintendent and be allocated switching assignments/instruction. Follow these instructions and report to the Nominated Person/ECO controller on completion.
- Working in a team environment to achieve the de-energise, re-energise, test, switch and earth of the PTA network working predominately night shift.
- Work in a safe manner and be able to communicate clearly with other workers and relay instructions to the ECO (electrical control officer).
- Contribute to the development of SWMS and other rail working procedures.

**Key Criteria**
To be considered for the Authorised Person switching role, you will need to possess the following:

- Certificate 111 in either Distribution, Traction Linesmen, or qualified Electrician
- Current driver’s license.
- Able and willing to work night shift five nights a week from Sunday to Thursday.

**Required but not essential**:

- Hold a current Rail Industry Worker Card
- Perth Transport Authority Safe worker accreditation
- Previous rail experience
