Melba won the 2023 National Disability Award for Excellence in Service Quality. **About the Role** Melba Support Services are actively recruiting for a 2IC DDSO2/A to join our team on a fixed-term basis in Drouin. As part of our team in Gippsland, you will work alongside the House Supervisor implementing quality services to the people we support and guide, mentor and support the staff. You will work alongside people we support, their families/guardians and staff to ensure that the people we support receive the highest level of care. This is a Supported Independent Living house caring for 4 adults with varying levels of support. This home is a sleepover model with a ratio of three staff and a rotating fortnightly roster. All individuals at this home have specific care needs including but not limited to behaviour support, manual handling, epilepsy management, bowel care, mealtime assistance and reflux management. **Responsibilities** - Assist the House Supervisor with the operations of the Supported Independent Living service with regular reporting to the Operations Manager - Manage all aspects of team performance including rosters, performance management, records management, quality, and compliance - Lead and plan support for people with disabilities within their home and community, based on the goals of individual support plans - Support initiatives that allow for individual choice, control and independence within their shared home environment - Advocate within the broader community for inclusion, participation, and respect for rights for supported people - Convey information to people we support and their families to help meet daily needs and plan support for future requirements - Administer medication treatments, therapies or seek assistance according to protocols **About you** - Hold or be working towards an Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management or equivalent qualification (desirable but not mandatory) - Understanding and familiarity with NDIS funding and planning processes - Understanding of person-centred active support, positive behaviour support and its implementation within a diverse team. - Passionate about supporting people with mental health and intellectual disability - Knowledge of and skill with coaching, supervision, and planning practices. - Competencies using Microsoft Office software programs **You will also bring with you or be willing to obtain** - A current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check (we can support you through the process of obtaining one or both checks if you don’t already have them). - Current unrestricted Australian Driver’s License - Current First Aid Certificate with CPR - Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster **Requirements**: **Benefits** **Why Join Us?** We are a human-rights, values-based, not-for-profit community organisation committed to providing services that support individuals with disability to lead everyday lives of their choice, if this resonates with you, come join us - Join a supportive and collaborative culture where your contributions make a real impact. - Enjoy onsite parking and other benefits. - Access to Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging. **Ready to Make a Difference?** Click "Apply" now and submit your resume.
