Sensory Food Technician

**Our team is rapidly growing and we're on the hunt for a Sensory Food Assistant/Technician to join our team and help our company to achieve our big, audacious goals to transform the plant-based and alternative protein sector.**

**You will**
- Prepare samples, including preparation using protocols, sample labelling, purchasing reference products and serving during samples testing.
- Support the upkeep and cleaning of Sensory Laboratory and Sensory Panel Rooms and care and maintenance of the kitchen and sensory tasting space.
- Helping to run panel session as you learn the skills required to lead the panel independently.
- Program and run sensory software (Eye Question) for sensory project data collection - training will be provided.
- Support for periodic tasting events in the Culinary Innovation Lab, that will involve set up, serving, and clearing, in a restaurant-like setting, with the highest standard.
- Identify and source sensory references and create sensory exercises for sensory panel sessions.
- Restock supplies and ensure proper storage of products for the Sensory and Culinary Innovation departments.
- Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness in laboratories and preparation areas.
- Taste commercial and novel foods from dairy and meat streams which may be in an experimental and developmental stage and therefore not recognized or approved for use as food additives or ingredients in Australia by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) _(Allergens may be present in the novel foods, common allergens including peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, sesame seeds, fish and shellfish, soy, lupin, wheat (gluten), and food dyes)._

**You have**:

- Degree, or equivalent, food science and/or relevant experience.
- A history of professional and respectful behaviours and attitudes in a collaborative environment.
- The ability to be multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to effectively manage several competing priorities simultaneously and carry out non-routine tasks under technical direction.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety.
- Ability to follow protocols and work independently.
- Curious and proactive in exploring new ways of working

**It would be great, but not essential, if you also had**:

- Experience in sensory science.
- Experience in hospitality or passion for food.
