When our client leads community consultation and stakeholder engagement activities, they work with their partners to lead the right conversations at the right time and collaborate with stakeholders to motivate, educate, and reach the best possible outcomes.

The key responsibility of this role is the implementation of detailed and wide-ranging community and stakeholder engagement programs for key capital works projects with a focus on:

- Identifying and addressing community concerns
- Finding solutions that resolve engagement barriers
- Identifying risks and resolution strategies to minimise delays and keep projects running on time and on budget

**Overview of Responsibilities**
- Identify issues, risks and opportunities and provide appropriate strategies;
- Support securing of land access and acquisition processes where appropriate;
- Lead project meetings, project workshops, key stakeholder workshops, community consultative committee meetings;
- Engage with councils/shires, landowners, local Federal and State MPs and community and industry associations and develop or refine community engagement plans to support consultation and engagement;
- Support collateral development including project newsletters, fact sheets, project updates, FAQs for website and print;
- Provide executive officer support functions for any formal or informal community consultation groups in line with planning approvals pathway;
- Assist in managing responses to the feedback received through statutory and other consultation processes; and
- Lead and support engagement that is transparent, equitable and accessible, with adequate opportunities for stakeholders to comment and all interactions are appropriately managed and recorded.

**Required Skills & Expertise**
- Tertiary or vocational qualifications in Community Engagement, Communications or related discipline, or equivalent competence;
- IAP2 Qualifications or an understanding of the IAP2 framework;
- Extensive experience in stakeholder and community engagement ideally within the infrastructure, energy, or rail sectors;
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders in politically sensitive environments;
- Demonstrated issues and risks management on complex projects;
- Demonstrated team leadership experience;
- High level verbal and written skills including the writing and delivery of strategies, plans and communications materials;
- Working knowledge of digital media and digital technologies to support community engagement;
- Demonstrated issues and risk management on complex projects; and
- Ability to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders in politically sensitive environments;
- Working knowledge and understanding of digital media and digital technologies to support community engagement; and
- High level verbal and written skills including the writing and delivery of strategies, plans, and communications materials.
