**Job Summary**

The MDS Program is responsible for delivering a credible and potent multi domain strike capability that meets the strategic guidance and is interoperable with it supporting and supported capability systems. Contracted support is required for the establishment of the Program, with some enduring requirements. The MDS Project Manager (Air and Space) role is required to provide a Program Management and oversight function, ensuring consistency within project deliverables.

**Job Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Advise on and lead the air & space contribution and collaboration efforts of the Multi Domain Strike Program
- Draft, consult, and collaborate on high quality submissions and deliverables to Senior Defence Committees
- Draft consult, and collaborate to provide air & space inputs on the MDS Functional Concept, concept of operations, and other strategic-level documents aligning the Department’s programs and projects
- Advise Director ADF MDS Program and senior Defence steering groups and contribute to senior Defence working groups, consultation bodies, and similar supporting fora.
- Contribute to programming of projects, tasks, travel, engagements, and personnel
- Provide Domain SME input and contributes to operational considerations and MDS Mission Engineering Thread development activities.
- Maintain directed program documentation, including (but not limited to) stakeholder register, engagement register, synchronisation matrices, and task registers
- Travel as required to collaborate with stakeholders

The resource will also be required to:

- Engage with relevant stakeholders, identifying any gaps, risks, or issues.
- Be prepared to provide specialist advice to working groups and LCD Stakeholders.
- Manage obstacles that will impede the deliverables being successfully executed.
- Plan and author high quality written and graphically support documents including but not limited to; Concepts, Concepts of Operations, analytical reviews and briefs to senior Defence committees.
- Successfully collaborate with ADF and APS staff and Defence contractors.
- Be capable of working remotely (off site).

**_ Essential criteria_**
- Air combat (fighter pilot/WSO), Joint Integrated Fire Control, or demonstrated high level operational strike package planning experience
- Knowledge of Defence corporate and executive structures
- Defence policy, governance and accountability experience
- Understanding of Defence strategic guidance, and relevance to Multi Domain Strike
- Use of Defence IT systems, record keeping practices, etc.
- Understanding Force Structure Review 20 conduct and outcomes, and subsequent Force Design iterations
- Australian Government Security Clearance

**_ Desirable criteria_**
- Capability management qualifications, or equivalent experience
- ACSC or CTMC graduate
- Formal project management certification (e.g. PMP, RegPM, CPPD)
