Qualified Room Leader
Our brand new, architecturally designed 97-Place Young Explorers Early Learning Centre is located at 52 Entrance Road, Spearwood.
It is a delightfully big campus specially designed by leading WA architects with children at heart. The main feature is a life-sized ship for children to explore, perfect for pretend play as the centre is so close to Coogee Beach. Access to indoor and outdoor spaces is seamless with our full sliding glass doors. And, as you walk through our doors, you will smell the beautiful aromas coming from our stunning open plan feature Cucina where our Chef will be greeting families each morning. We believe just as the kitchen is the heart of your family home, it is also the heart of ours and families can take a moment to sit around the Cucina or our familia lounge and have a cafe latte and Fette biscotti with new friends.
Our Campus is like no other.
The Young Explorer’s Philosophy
Our philosophy is built around what we believe to be 4 critical pillars to ensure the best possible outcome for the children in our care.
- Strong, Powerful & Meaningful Relationships
- Understanding cultural heritage
- Genuine and consistent communication
- Rich Documentation of children’s learning, thinking & capabilities
We embed the family’s aspirations, our educator’s knowledge and deeply ingrained understanding of early childhood theory and National Quality Standards to create a learning environment in which each child will thrive.
The Role
As a Young Explorer Room Leader, you will have in-depth, high-level knowledge of and be an expert in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), child development and learning and all relevant state-based curriculums required to, lead, coach and mentor a dedicated group of early years practitioners in your allocated room/age group, whilst ensuring an inclusive program is achieved.
Eco Practitioners are expected to be positive role models, active contributors and engaged team members that provide high quality inclusive early childhood education and care to children of all abilities and their families.
This includes

- Developing strong relationships that support and partner with families;
- Implementing and always upholding the service policies and associated procedures and practices
- Work in partnership with practitioners towards continuous improvement in all areas of operation.
Young Explorer practitioners actively contribute to the centre's professional identity and constantly strive to raise the quality of our program and practice. We all work closely to establish authentic and positive relationships with children and families to ensure positive outcomes for children, families, practitioners and the community.
WHY do we refer to our Educators as Practitioners.
At Young Explorers, we believe our Educators are professionals actively engaged in the art/discipline of Education and as such, we refer to our Educators as Practitioners. Our Practitioners are engaged and passionate professionals not because we ask them to be but because they have a genuine desire to affect change in this world and believe they can do this through their work each day.
A Young Explorer Practitioner is someone who has a thirst for knowledge and is naturally curious and wants to know "THE WHY" in everything they do because knowledge is the ultimate power.
