Disability Support Worker

**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Person-Centered Care**: Provide personalised and holistic support to individuals with complex care needs, focusing on their unique mental health requirements.
- **Emotional Support**: Offer empathetic and compassionate support to clients dealing with mental health challenges. Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages personal growth and independence.
- **Skill Development**: Assist individuals in acquiring and enhancing daily living skills, coping mechanisms, and social integration skills to promote a sense of autonomy and self-confidence.
- **Crisis Intervention**: Respond calmly and effectively to crisis situations, employing de-escalation techniques and following established protocols. Collaborate with relevant professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals.
- **Documentation and Reporting**: Maintain accurate and timely records of client progress and/or incidents on a daily basis.
- **Collaboration**: Work collaboratively with all stakeholders and colleagues to provided tailored support.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience in providing support to individuals with complex care needs, particularly in the mental health field.
- Relevant qualifications in disability support, mental health, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of person-centered care principles and trauma-informed practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
