**About the Centre**

Here at Hawthorn we offer complimentary memberships to all employees and also cross all Victorian YMCA facilities. We are conveniently located within walking distance of both trains and tram lines with spacious car parks to accommodate our many staff, members and guests. Our facilities include large gym and multiple pools, free for staff to use, as well as childcare facilities and café, all accessible to our staff at a discounted rate.

**About the role**

Based at the Hawthorn Aquatic & Leisure Centre, our Health & Fitness Instructors must possess a genuine desire to encourage and support our communities and members to achieve their health and fitness goals. Our Instructors are responsible for motivating, educating and enhancing the member experience and play a pivotal role in member retention.

Responsibilities within the role include:

- Working as a team to provide the very best Health & Fitness advice through conducting health consultations, recommending Group Fitness programming, follow up consultations and re-assessments
- Supervision of the Health Club ensuring the area is kept to a high standard of cleanliness, equipment safety and presentation
- Ensuring members conform with Health Club Guidelines
- Engaging with the community and providing a welcoming environment for all
- Monitoring and completing checklists.

This is a part time position and the hourly rate is $27.02 per hour + Super.

**About you**

As a Fitness Instructor, you’ll be a strong communicator and dynamic leader, motivating and educating our diverse clientele to build healthy, active behaviours. You will be passionate about member growth and customer service with the need to work across the gym floor and customer service with a mindset to engage in the community.

**Essential Qualifications**
- Certificate III in Fitness or approved equivalent
- Certificate IV in Fitness or approved equivalent (completed or working towards completion)
- Current Fitness Australia Registration, or approved equivalent
- CPR certificate
- First Aid certificate
- 20 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) every two years, in order to maintain your accredited Fitness Industry registration.
