We recognise that our students require not only a meaningful and relevant curriculum but one that integrates the key elements of excellent pedagogical practice with a wellbeing framework that best supports our young people in a rapidly changing world. As a member of the Applied Positive Psychology Faculty, you will align to both school and departmental objectives and you will also assist in delivering the belief in Learners Who Flourish at The Gap State High School. You will actively continue to develop the quality of learning and to build quality, positive relationships with students, staff and community.APP is undertaken with a weekly allocation of lessons and is conducted in a range of classroom and outdoor settings, including in the school's climbing centre (LTC - Leadership Training Centre.) The LTC allows for top rope climbing, abseiling, caving and a range of high ropes activities. Character, leadership and wellbeing development units include explicit instruction and use of adventure activities to develop student capacities. Wellbeing is based on the interventions provided by positive psychology with explicit teaching around concepts such as virtues and character strengths, emotions, mindsets, hope theory, and self-determination theory.

- Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. - In addition to registration, teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services. For more information on blue cards and exemption cards, please CLICK HERE.

- Attach your current CV including contact details of two professional referees (one of whom is your current supervisor) and a maximum 2 page written response outlining your suitability for the role under "How You Will Be Assessed"
