**About the role**:
The department is embarking on a major uplift of its network services, including broadband upgrades, new web filtering services and associated solutions. Given the close-knit nature of these initiatives, this role will provide support, expertise and capacity across all initiatives and BAU activities as required so that the team can deliver on our agreed outcomes. As the Technical Manager you will manage multiple teams of highly skilled technical resources in the delivery of key ICT services, contribute the evolution of the department’s strategic vision for the ICT platform and plan and provide strategic and technical design advice on development and deployment of new and existing enterprise-wide solutions, emerging technologies and appropriate supporting IT infrastructure.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Generate significant improvements and measurable business benefits by identifying, proposing, initiating and leading significant programs of improvement relating to the delivery of ICT services
- Lead the creation and review of systems capability strategies that meets the strategic requirements of the business, develops enterprise-wide architecture and processes.
- Provide high level advice and recommendations to the Executive Director and Director to enhance the effectiveness of significant activities on major information management and information technology

**Highly desirable**:

- Thorough knowledge in information technology field with proven ability to provide strategic and policy advice, and to develop and implement strategies and operational policies for information technology management services.
- High level analytical skills and proven ability to propose cost effective and creative solutions to both technical and administrative problems and experience in translating business needs into technical solutions.
