**About The Role**

Reporting into the GM Risk & Assurance, you’ll ensure departments across Sportsbet have effective control environments that efficiently manage the relevant risks and compliance obligations faced by the business. You will work with stakeholders to ensure Sportsbet’s approach to assurance is consistent with the policies and frameworks of the Flutter Entertainment Group.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Work with key stakeholders to build awareness of risks across the business and strategies to effectively control those risks.
- Use the results of assurance activities to assist departments in assessing and reassessing their operational risk profiles
- Identify control gaps and opportunities to improve the design, adequacy, effectiveness and scalability of the control environment in place to manage risk across the business.
- Build out a comprehensive testing plan, taking into account activities by all assurance partners, to ensure controls are tested in line with Sportsbet’s Assurance Standard
- Report on the overall adequacy, process and effectiveness of the control environment to senior executives.
- Ensure senior staff in the first line are suitably equipped to cope with the growing complexity of the risk and compliance landscape across the business
- Develop a skilled, effective and efficient group of risk professionals with strong assurance capabilities across the first and second lines of defence.

Sportsbet operates in a highly complex and ever-changing sector where the perception of the industry and its practises bears significantly on its operating environment. It is critical that Sportsbet manages its positioning and reputation through deliberate risk management and an effective and continually improved control environment.

**About You**
- Strong understanding of control design and testing methodologies.
- Experience in influencing outcomes and driving change and transformation across direct reports and businesses more broadly
- Ability to work to a demanding timeframe and re-prioritise as necessary with excellent analytical skills, including identifying potential issues and scenarios
