Design Manager

As part of the energy transition, we need experienced engineers to undertake essential design & construction services for critical infrastructure. UGL has a great record in completing renewable sector associated projects including Solar Farms, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Transmission Lines, Substations and electrical distribution. Our proven delivery means we have an exceptional pipeline.

**What will a day in this role look like**:

- Prepare and maintain the Design Plan for the duration of the project.
- Ensure that all elements of the design are coordinated between all design team members.
- Monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of design resources allocated to the project.
- Ensure that all necessary reviews, verifications and validations are planned and conducted, and the outcomes of these are incorporated into the design.
- Ensure that the design conforms to all safety, environmental, construction, commissioning, and operating requirements.

**What are we looking for you to bring to the team**:

- 4-year degree qualification to Bachelor status in Engineering.
- Engineering degree in Electrical or Civil/ Structural preferred.
- Prior experience managing large utilities projects (High Voltage substation and/or transmission lines experience) will be highly regarded.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
