**About the Role**:Responsibilities include, but not limited to**:
- Assist with the management of the Cabinet, Executive Council and legislative functions of the department in an effective manner through the provision of advice on Cabinet and parliamentary procedures and processes, coordination of the department's Cabinet business and legislative program, and the conduct of training on departmental Cabinet procedures.
- Review and critically evaluate Cabinet submissions and briefing notes to ensure quality, relevance and appropriateness and confirming that such documents have been developed in accordance with government guidelines.
- Assist the Director and CLLO to communicate decisions arising from Cabinet and Cabinet Committee meetings to relevant departmental officers in accordance with government guidelines, and monitoring the agency's implementation of those decisions.
- Coordinate and provide policy advice and options on matters relating to executive government and Cabinet.
- Maintain the department's Cabinet related records. The CLLO is responsible for the secure maintenance of the department's Cabinet documentation and for responding to requests from departmental officers for information about these documents.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships and networks within the portfolio and across government via the CLLO network and with officers from the central agencies to facilitate the coordination and implementation of the Cabinet, Parliamentary and Executive Council processes.
- Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
The Assistant Cabinet and Legislation Liaison Officer reports to the Director and Cabinet Legislation and Liaison Officer (CLLO), Ministerial and Executive Services Unit (MESU).
