For a Local Government in Perth we are looking for a Internal Communications Officer on a part time basis (24 hours per week). The job will be for approximately 3 months.

**The Job**
- In consultation with the Manager People & Culture, create, lead and deliver effective, purposeful internal communications to engage and inform internal stakeholders.
- Assist the Manager People & Culture in the development, implementation and coordination of the City’s internal communications strategies, activities and initiatives, ensuring they are aligned to organisational priorities.
- Create and standardise internal communications including sourcing, researching, writing, designing, editing and distributing high quality and engaging communications/promotional material for different audiences across arrange of communication channels, inclusive of print and digital.
- Promote trust and confidence, providing clear, relevant and accurate information to provide a key conduit between organisational strategies and internal communications to employees.
- Develop and grow internal communication channels including digital platforms, publications, and forums to meet the diverse needs of the workforce to drive greater access to information across the organisation.

**Requirements**:

- Possession of, or significant progress towards, a relevant qualification in communications, marketing, journalism, media studies, public relations or a related discipline, or equivalent significant relevant experience.
- Previous relevant experience working at a similar level with developing and implementing internal organisational communication plans and strategies.
- Highly developed written communication skills and styles, including the ability to write and edit material suitable for diverse target audiences in a simple and concise style.
- Highly developed attention to detail ensuring messages and published content is accurate and professional.
- Highly developed interpersonal, conflict resolution and facilitation skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and groups both inside and outside the organisation, to ensure delivery of a high level of customer service.
- Well developed organisational and administrative skills with the ability to effectively prioritise multiple projects and coordinate conflicting priorities to meet strict deadlines and organisational objectives.
