**Role**:
**Education Support Class**

Education support class positions are diverse and cover the delivery of support services that include school administration and operations (e.g. human resources, finance, facilities,), school support services (e.g. library, laboratory, information technology), direct student and teaching support (e.g. classroom assistance to teachers, careers counselling, student health and wellbeing).

**Position Profile**:
This Education Support position is part of the College Education Support Team, whose responsibility is to work co-operatively as part of the team, ensuring a professional, productive, friendly and efficient workplace. This effectively leads towards better student outcomes.

- Overseeing the maintenance of College buildings, property and relevant equipment
- Responsible for maintenance of essential services
- Planning the cyclic maintenance program for the buildings of the School
- Ensuring all compliance regulations are met and appropriately documented
- Use and maintenance of AIMS computer systems including data entry
- Implementation of the cyclic maintenance program, through the employment of appropriate trades people.
- Provide maintenance and undertake repairs of a general nature. This includes simple general plumbing (e.g. cleaning of stormwater drains, electrical work (e.g. replacing light globes), general carpentry, painting, cleaning, repairs to furniture, repairs to faulty locks and door furniture, and general repairs to the fabric of the building.
- Supervise the provision of heating throughout the School. This Includes: providing an oversight of the operation of heating equipment and reporting faults to the Assistant Principal; checking fuel supplies regularly, and the turning on and off heating when directed by the Assistant Principal or Principal.
- Maintain the College grounds to a high standard, including
- o General cleanup of walkways and outdoor areas around the school on a regular basis. Is of special importance at times when the College is having external visitors. Includes all areas, oval, courtyard, carpark, in garden beds
- o Organize the removal of graffiti
- by either cleaning or painting or hiring in specialist, as the circumstances require
- o Setting up for various events
- including Open Day and Primary School Leadership days etc.
- o Cutting keys for student padlocks
- o Maintain the student lockers
- o Organize the clearing of the school roof of balls
- o Small amount of cleaning including emergency cleaning
- o After consultation with Admin team, coordination of local tradesmen (such as plumbers, electricians etc)
- o Occasionally open and close the school site
- mainly applicable in the school holidays
- o Arrange for clearance of blocked drains where appropriate
- o Maintain logbooks re: tagging of electrical apparatus
- o Report concerns regarding maintenance and safety to the Principal
- o Other duties as required by the Principal, Assistant Principal and Business Manager
