We are looking for an experienced Support Worker to join our St Louis Community Care Packages Team.

St Louis has provided individualized support in Adelaide for over 70 years since 1946. St Louis Community Care Packages Team are passionate about helping the people we support to live their best life, maintaining independence and social connections, and maximising choice by providing person-centred active supports within a NDIS environment. Working under the support and guidance of the House Leaders and Homes Manager, you will develop genuine connection with clients and actively engage with them in all aspects of daily living including personal care, domestic duties, meals, social activities, and community participation.

**The Role**

Support workers assist in delivering indirect and/or direct client support, maintaining a high quality of care and optimising clients choices and wellbeing in a holistic manner. This is undertaken in the home our our in the community environment in accordance with the values and policies of St Louis Community Care packages and the St Louis Code of Conduct.

St Louis Community Packages staff work 38 hours per week on a roster across 7 days a week, applicants must have availability for morning, afternoon and night shift on a 24 hour care roster.

To excel in this role and in turn become an integral member of our team you must meet the following requirements:
Qualifications and Clearances:

- Must hold a Certificate III in Individual Support/Disability or equivalent
- Participation in formal and informal in-service training programs
- Overseas Criminal Convictions Statutory Declaration (form will be supplied during onboarding)
- National Police Clearance
- NDIS worker check
- Flu Vaccination ongoing requirement
- Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards

**Skills and Knowledge**:

- Undertake shifts as instructed and as per your regular pattern of work as prescribed in your Contract of Employment
- Strong commitment to caring for NDIS clients
- Bi-cultural and/or bi-lingual knowledge and understanding is an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of the needs of people with a disability is essential.
- To maintain a professional approach and enhance the profile and image of St. Louis community Care Packages
- A knowledge of, and demonstrated commitment to, the principles and practices of
- Knowledge of NDIS Standards is desirable.
- Knowledge of infection control and work health and safety measures is desirable.
- Sensitive to the needs of aging persons of differing cultural backgrounds, including non-English speaking background.
- Empathy and compassion demonstrated while interacting with Clients and family members.
- Communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills required as an active team member.
- Demonstrates respect toward clients when providing care and support services and in daily interactions, treating Clients with dignity and respecting their autonomy and preferences.
- Maintaining a positive and uplifting attitude which enhances the environment at St Louis and contributes to the emotional well-being of out Clients.
- Effectively organising tasks and managing time to ensure Residents receive timely

care and support.

**Experience**:

- Working in an the disability sector or other health-related role is desirable.

**Remuneration**:

- from 33.41 to 36.46 base rate, (weekends from $50.12 per hour).
